How We Soundproof Our Theatre Rooms
- Inside of the speaker box, we use SONOpan, which is high density soundproofing board. These sheets are screwed into the ceiling joists.
- The joist spaces are filled with ROCKWOOL Comfortbatt for additional insulation.
- And the joists are strapped down with Resilient Channel, which dampens sound waves. Then, the area is drywalled, providing optimal soundproofing.
When it comes to soundproofing a home space, either do or do not. There is no try.
